I think the appeal of monogamy is the stability and long term closeness of the partners. I don't think that for me the shift to having two wives is as great as outsiders see the shift. I still feel the same appeal of stability and long term closeness with my partners. We feel that we have a big gain in having a partner to manage the kids and household activities while we have valuable time with each other. Everyone has a big gain, but less in terms of the sexual coupling that naysayers claim, and more in terms of the 24 hour sexuality that loving partners share as intimate friends.
